Embark on a 'Sacred Journey' with Nicomede Talavera's Fall 2026 Collection! This collection marks a significant return for the British-Filipino designer, Nicomede Talavera, who, after navigating the fashion world from London to Shanghai, presents a coed collection that embodies his personal and artistic evolution over the past three years.
"It means creating in my truth and creating with purpose," Talavera explains. Having initially made his mark on the London fashion scene over a decade ago with innovative menswear that celebrated his multicultural background, Talavera's journey has been a testament to resilience and growth.
His Fall 2026 collection, a "natural progression" of his experiences, reflects his unique cross-continental lifestyle, his renewed connection with the creative landscape of the Philippines, and the valuable insights gained from various consultancy projects.
But here's where it gets interesting: Talavera found emotional and cultural support in the Philippines, especially for his womenswear debut, with Vogue Philippines playing a crucial role. This support was something he felt he lacked while growing up in the U.K. Simultaneously, Shanghai became a hub for manufacturing innovation, allowing him to explore knitwear and create accessories with unique hardware, all while maintaining competitive pricing.
For Fall 2026, Talavera drew inspiration from Filipino modernist artist Arturo Luz's "Boxes and Shells" series. He repurposed shells, incorporating mother-of-pearl and cowrie shell embroideries, which beautifully complemented his signature design elements like hook-and-eye fastenings, deconstructed collars, and angular tailoring.
The women's collection, inspired by form and the women in his life, features crinkled sheer tops, shorts, and skirts with pinch details, along with an oversized top adorned with iridescent, hand-sewn pin-tuck embroideries. The collection also includes a range of dresses and headpieces in striking geometric shapes.
